Pursuant to Section 4 of RA 9340, also known as "An Act Amending RA 9164, Reseting the Baranay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections and for Other Purposes", which provide that the term of office of barangay and SK officials elected in the October 2007 elections shall commence at noon of November 30 next following their election, a ceremonial mass oath-taking of the newly-elected barangay and SK officials of the 27 barangays of Bani, Pangasinan was led by the Municipal Mayor Marcelo E. Navarro Jr. on November 20, 2007 at the Town Plaza.

During the said ceremonies, 27 Punong Barangays, 189 Barangay Kagawads, 27 SK Chairmen and 171 SK Kagawads, as there are barangays with incomplete set of SK Kagawads, were inducted into office.

Mayor Navarro, the Inducting Officer, urged the new set of barangay and SK officials to work hand-in-hand with the municipal government towards a Bigger, Higher and Stronger Bani. He even stressed out the importance of unity and partnership between and among the local officials and other stakeholders to achieve the vision of the municipality. His working slogan "Kayang-Kaya, Basta't Sama-sama!" gained positive support from the new barangay and SK officials who gave assurance of a well-rounded barangay government.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Bani through the able leadership of Vice Mayor Hannibal S. Olores awarded Certificate of Recognition to the nine (9) three-termer Punong Barangays in the LGU for their valuable contributions to their respective barangays where they served unconditionally. (Gina C. Eslera)
