Director Ilagan citing the Local Government of Bani under the stewardship of Mayor Gabriel Navarro, the Sangguniang Bayan and Barangay Council of Poblacion for their commitment to the program, said they were confident they were leaving the project in good hands.
The Stimulation and Therapeutic Activity Center, STAC 13 Satellite 3 Bani is a joint project of the Katipunan ng mga Maykapansanan sa Pilipinas Inc. (KAMPI) and the Danish Society of Polio and Accident Victims in cooperation with the LGU-Bani. The STAC provides free comprehensive rehabilitation services for children 14 years old and younger with disabilities.
A Book of Legacy containing a compilation of records and information that document the partnership, a plaque and CD of the documents were turned over to the LGU. The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Dir. Ilagan and Mayor Navarro, witnessed by Mun. Councilor Teresita Estabillo, Mun. Health Officer Dr. Ma. Elena Orlino and Punong Barangay Marianito Castelo.
Mayor Navarro citing the commitment of the parents and the people of Bani, promised that the local government would continue the project. He considered the "little victories" - in a child who was unable to walk and now after therapy not only walks but runs, as big accomplishments for the child and his family. The Mayor asked the parents to help reach-out to other families with children with disabilities, so they too may have the opportunity for better lives.
The local government plans to forge a partnership with the other STAC Centers in Alaminos City and Burgos, so they can share experiences and help each other out for an even stronger program for children with disabilities.
