A Disaster Response Team Training was conducted for 238 members of the Municipal and Barangay Disaster Coordinating Councils of Bani. The training facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross Alaminos Chapter was the first one held in Western Pangasinan.

The three-day training was done in two batches, April 27-29 and May 3-5 at the Bani East Central School. Topics covered the National Red Cross organization and its major services, Disaster Management Concepts, Disaster Continuum, Emergency Response, Camp Management, DRT Reporting, Incident Command S ystem, Health Service, CPR and First Aid, Food Aid and Triage. Blood typing and a membership drive were also conducted. All participants were issued membership IDs which entitled them to health benefits and accident insurance.
