Police
Force and Facilities
At present, the ratio of police to population
in the municipality is 1:2,379, which is above
the minimum standard police to population
ratio of 1:1,000. Observing cases that had
been blottered for the past years, the municipality
is in need of additional police officers to
maintain peace and order in the locality.
For the current year 2003, the municipality
needs 26 more policemen in addition to the
present eighteen (18) police officers.
Bani
Police Office falls under Police Station Type
“B”. In consideration to the standard
that one (1) outpost is required per 10,000
population, by 2012, the municipality should
have three (3) outposts of permanent structure
and land area of at least 50 square meters
each for a total of 150 square meters.
Aside from the backlog of police outposts,
mobility and responsiveness of the police
force are hampered with only one (1) patrol
car available for them and very limited communication
facilities. To establish efficiency and speed
communication network with the different barangays,
it is necessary to increase police vehicles
and communication facilities.

The police headquarter housed at the municipal
hall with a floor area of 48 square meters
is limited and inadequate. For this reason,
there is a need to construct a PNP Headquarter
with a minimum lot area of 500 square meters,
the standard set by the NAPOLCOM to a Type
“B” Police Station. Likewise,
there shall be established secured, clean,
adequately equipped and sanitary jail for
prisoners.
Also the policemen should be sent to value
orientation seminars and to schooling and
trainings to improve their efficiency and
effectiveness in maintaining peace and order
in the municipality.
