INFRASTRUCTURE
The
road network of the Municipality of Bani consists
of four roads classifications connected by
national, provincial and barangay bridges
thereby providing the means for mobilization
to and from urban and functional areas. Barangay
roads are mostly farm-to-market roads claiming
a total of 206.38 kilometers.
It
is worthy to note that the barangay residents
have always demonstrated their Banian (and
bayanihan) spirit by volunteering as part
of the labor force during the construction,
rehabilitation and maintenance of roads.
Bani
is bounded on the north by Bolinao, on the
northeast by Anda, on the east by Alaminos,
on the southeast by Mabini and on the south
by Agno. These neighboring towns can be reached
through passing the provincial and municipal
roads connecting them with the town.
With
a good road network, Bani can be reached by
land transportation from the urban center
of Lingayen with about 62 kilometers distance;
Dagupan City with about 76 kilometers the
capital city of the Philippines, Manila about
252 kilometers, Baguio City of about 133 kilometers
and San Fernando City, La Union, the Regional
Center of Region I about 94 kilometers.
Modes of Conveyances
For
land transportation, Bani has tricycles operating
for the town with routes including nearby
adjoining Agno, Anda, Bolinao and Alaminos.
There are also public utility jeeps and mini-buses
plying the routes Agno-Bani-Alaminos. Likewise
traversing the town are express buses from
Metro-Manila to Agno, Bolinao and Anda. By
sea, there are bancas and motorboats.
Road
Network
As
per records, of the total 202.88 kilometers
of roads in the municipality, 24.57 kilometers
is classified as national 16.75 kilometers
as provincial, 12.48 kilometers as municipal
and 149.08 kilometers as barangay. Existing
roads occupy a total area of 161.246 hectares:
12.48 hectares urban and 148.766 hectares
rural.
As
to surface, only 1.89 percent is concrete,
37.58 percent is asphalt, 42.98 percent is
gravel and 27.58 percent is earth filled.
